malik m. marin, co-founder & ceo

“I have been a business owner for over 20 years. I was first introduced to the nonprofit world in 2005 when I became a founding partner of a nonprofit organization that focused on training underprivileged and underserved youth in Baltimore, MD with life skills to prepare them for adulthood.

After working with this program, I began to recognize that a large percentage of our homeless community are veterans. I believe that the brave individuals who risk their lives to protect our freedom should never go hungry or homeless in our country. My mission is to help in every way that I can to end homelessness in the U.S., one veteran at a time.”

“Prior to working with nonprofits, I was an international tax attorney, specializing in transfer pricing. Although my work was intellectually fulfilling, I yearned for my heart’s involvement in my daily work. I am learning to use the skills I obtained in the government and private sectors to improve the lives of the disenfranchised by giving them hope.”

april roberson & Mack roberson, Chief operating officers, florida

“Prior to working with nonprofits, Mack and April Roberson both served honorably in the United States Army. Upon retirement, both entered a second career in the field of education.

As retired veterans we have always had a desire to assist our brothers and sisters in arms as they defend our nation and upon their return back into the civilian sector. We know all to well that many veterans return home requiring some form of assistance.

As veterans ourselves, we remain committed to serve and assist our fellow veterans. Our unique experiences with the military can serve as a beginning point for hope for our fellow veterans.”

toine pilgrim, chief operating officer, georgia

Prior to working with nonprofits, Toine Pilgrim served honorably in the United States Air Force.  After serving honorably, Toine began his second career as an overseas contractor in support of the United States Armed Forces.

As a veteran with service-connected disabilities, he has always felt compelled to assist the less fortunate U.S. Military families. A veteran’s most important step in transitioning to the civilian sector is piece of mind and that’s where “Vets Bridges To Hope” comes in.  Vets Bridges To Hope will provide our time and resources to support changing the veteran’s way of life.
